About retireRN

Amie B. Rainwater, R.N.

Nurse Division Liaison

In 2015, I attended a Nurse Retention Committee meeting at Chandler Hospital at UK Healthcare. The guest speaker that day was Philip P. Sallee, MBA, presenting on the topic of Retirement Management. I was immediately impressed by his vast knowledge and his ability to simplify complex financial and quantitative data in a way that was easy to understand.

During the Q&A session, I asked Philip if he would be willing to come to Good Samaritan Hospital, another UK Healthcare facility, to speak with me and my coworkers about retirement planning. He graciously agreed — and that began a professional relationship and friendship that has spanned the past decade.

What stood out to me was how Philip treated nurses with the same respect and attention as physicians. We had many conversations about the unique financial concerns and planning needs of nurses, and I deeply appreciated his commitment to making financial education accessible and relevant to our profession.

In 2016, I joined the WealthMD Board to represent the nursing community, as the firm had grown a significant nurse client base across UK Healthcare.

Over the past 10 years, Philip and I often spoke about creating a firm specifically focused on nurses — one that would provide financial education tailored to our needs and delivered in a way that nurses could truly connect with.

I’m thrilled to announce that on October 1, 2025, that vision is becoming a reality with the launch of the “retireRN” division of WealthMD. I’m honored to be joining the retireRN Team as the Nurse Division Liaison, continuing my commitment to empowering nurses with the tools and knowledge they need for a secure and confident retirement
